The Skill Development Cell (SDC) is an exclusive program offered through the “Careers Development Center.” As the Indian economy embraces globalization, the competition within industries has intensified. It is crucial to prepare engineering students for employment in multinational companies by exposing them to advanced technologies and engineering methodologies. SDC facilitates a conducive environment by bringing together industry and academia to provide skill-building programs such as SkillUP and SkillBridge. These programs bridge the gap between training and placements commonly observed in academic settings. By collaborating with industries, SDC ensures meaningful interaction between academia and industry, fostering the development of relevant skills and nurturing innovative thinking among students.

SDC focuses on promoting Industry-Institute Interaction to cultivate a world-class workforce in the field of science and technology. While India has a vast pool of manpower, the real need of the hour is well-equipped individuals with employability skills. There is a strong demand for fostering closer ties between academia and industry across all stages of technology development, ranging from conceptualization to commercialization.
